dilatory
January 31st
Resolutions unbegan sprawl shattered
like dilatory pieces of a grand mosaic
awaiting careful application;
when four weeks later
only excuses have prompted creativity
and invisible promises
continue to etch invisible patterns
on still more invisible slabs
of hollow intentions
to "start tomorrow" --
a lofty notion, yet
a painfully conceptual ruse.
